Lenihan Dancers Ready to Rock the Worlds!

Often referred to as the Olympics of Irish Dance “The Worlds” is the ultimate experience for any Irish Dancer.  A massive event spanning nine days (3/31 -4/8) with over 5,000 competitors ranging from ages 8-22+, who travel from all over the globe to dance and win the title of the world’s best.

This year the Lenihan School is proud to have six dancers competing in The World Championship of Irish Dance.  As pictured above ~ Erin Collins, Erin Kiley, Mary Kate Firsin, Emily Lynch, Grace Kiley and Jamie Rush will all be departing later this week for Belfast Ireland, for their opportunity to dance with the “Best of the Best” ~ an honor they earned by qualifying at the New England Oireachtas last November. With these dancers we send along our well wishes for a safe and very successful trip!

Ruehl Family Benefit

Ruehl Family Benefit at the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield on Sunday, February 12th.

As some of you know, our student Chloe Ruehl’s father passed away unexpectedly last August.  Billy was a Marine, a UCONN graduate, a Fairfield resident and above all a wonderful loving husband and father. As you can imagine things have been extremely tough for Bridget, Annie (12) and Chloe (10)  so we’ve organized a fundraiser to benefit  their family.

It will be a really nice family day with food, several bands and Lenihan School performing,!

Patty K. Lenihan Honored

Congratulations to Patty K. Lenihan, GAC Member of the Year !

The Gaelic American Club’s St. Patrick’s Dinner Dance on March 3^rd will honor Patty K. Lenihan and two others as Outstanding Club Members.  It’s sure to be a great night with dinner, dancing and a brief show by the Lenihan School of Irish Dance.

THE LENIHAN SCHOOL OF IRISH DANCE CELEBRATES 2012

The Lenihan School of Irish dance is known for excellence and will be presenting a wonderful, entertaining and toe tapping show to Ring in the New Year at Westport / Weston First Night Celebration.  Our Dancers are recognized and praised throughout the state for their outstanding performances.  So come join us in The Westport Town Hall Auditorium for two great shows at 9:00  & 9:45 pm.
